“On the Brink of Everything: Grace, Gravity & Getting Old”
by Parker Palmer
Take the month of July to read this book on your own, then join us as we participate in a “Notes in the Margins” discussion with the author. We will meet at the church (in the Pastors’ Gallery) on Thursday, July 22nd from 11:45am-1:30pm to participate in a discussion via webinar with Parker Palmer, the author of “On the Brink of Everything.” Feel free to bring your own bag or box lunch to enjoy during the meeting.
Pre-registration for the discussion on July 22nd is required.
To register, simply email Sandra Bottoms at: email@example.com or call the church office at (804) 748-4636 and Marcie can help you register.
In “On the Brink of Everything,” Parker Palmer explores how we can live our lives fully and well to the very end…reaching in for wisdom and reaching out to serve. This is a brave and beautiful book for all who want to age reflectively, and who want to seek new insights and life-giving ways to engage in the world. With compassion and chutzpah, levity and seriousness, Parker Palmer reminds readers that how we travel the arc toward the sunset of our lives is ours to choose -- will our journey be denial, defiance, or collaboration?
“On the Brink of Everything” is available to be purchased on-line in several formats through Amazon at:
Please contact Sandra if you have any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org or (804) 748-4636, ext 312. If would like to connect to the webinar discussion with the author from home rather than meeting at the church, please contact Sandra for details on how to do that.
